Construction Cost: $3,500,000
This project was a 9,800 sq ft general research facility with laboratories, support offices, and classrooms for blueberry research at the University of Florida. The new building was served by a 15,000 CFM mixed-air air handling unit that was designed to accommodate all the different space types. New booster pumps for chilled water and heating hot water were provided to supply water to the new AHU and reheat to the fourteen (14) variable air volume boxes that served the building. Multiple exhaust fans were provided to account for the varying exhaust requirements of each of the space types – general exhaust was provided for the toilet rooms and general spaces while fume exhaust was provided for the fume hood room.
